As the Senior Pastor of Open Bible Fellowship, I want to invite you to get to know our church family. I love this church. I'm not referring to the location or the property of the church. I'm talking about the people. That's right - the church is the gathering of God's people not the establishment of a "sacred" place.
In 1991 my wife and I moved to Morrison, after eleven years of ministry in Oklahoma and Louisiana. During those first few years the Holy Spirit impressed me to plant roots in this area. We purchased a home, hired an associate and determined that this was the place to serve God and raise our three children. Since then, we've grown numerically, added staff and expanded the outreach and scope of our vision personally and corporately with our spiritual family.
Well, we completed the task of raising our children (Amy, David and Megan who is now Mrs. Zach Modglin). Yet, our journey in faith with the people of OBF continues and our commitment of love and dedication toward them is stronger than ever. We understand the heart of the ministry of God through the agency of a local church. We are committed to the salvation of the lost, the healing of the broken, and liberation of the captives. We have dedicated ourselves to the process of training, equipping and empowering our church family to do those things from the perspective of their position in life as well as the gifts and callings God has placed upon them.
Our church is full of people whose lives have been damaged and broken by sin and its consequences. However, we are now on a journey of faith wherein God's redemptive power is making us whole and empowering us to positively impact the lives of others.
Open Bible Fellowship is a "regional church with a world vision". From the heartland of midwestern America, we are reaching out. We are connected with other parts of Christ's body, partnering together with them all over our region, nation and world to proclaim God's saving grace and amazing love to those who will believe and receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
If you have never visited, please come and see us. We would consider it an honor to have you and to serve you in any way possible.
Intentionally Serving Him!
Pastor Chris
